Jeffrey Street - Edinburgh
Feeling super tired today after my exam; one more to go and then I'm free for the summer!
Anyway, on the way to the Exam Hall, I found this really nice, little shopping street in Edinburgh.
It's only a couple of minutes walk from Waverley Station, so perfect if you're travelling through and have a little while between trains.
Jeffrey Street (pictured below, on Google Maps, incase anyone is rubbish with directions!) is littered with nice bistro-style restaurants, individual furnishing shops, clothes boutiques and quirky giftshops. Itbur's definitely worth a visit if you're looking to see the more unique side of the city centre.
There's a really cute little sweetie shop, with the old fashioned jars and lovely gift ideas called Lickety Splits which is definitely worth a visit for locals and tourists.
There's also a very quirky designer clothes shop, for both men and women, called Corniche. I will admit, the clothes are not really to my taste, but there was no way I was going to walk past the Vivienne Westwood bags and shoes. Even if designer is not really your thing (hey, it's okay, it's not mine either!) take a wee peek, there's nothing wrong with a bit of window shopping. After all that shopping, if you find yourself a little hungry, continue along to St. Mary's Street and stop for a quick bite at Stac Polly Bistro; a lovely scottish restaurant, with a very relaxing atmosphere. Quite small so, perhaps, book to avoid disappointment!
